HIGH ROAD 

Synopsis for a Feature Film

The following is a true story. 

JOHN GANO (48) was living the dream.  Beautiful wife.  Fancy house.  New car. 

Until the fateful day in 2006, he drove over his wife with a car in front of their house. 

LIZ GANO (44) was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.  And somehow survived. 

Believe it or not, it was an accident.  And a wake-up call.  To a man who had been navigating his path alone.  Making decisions by the seat of his pants...out of experience, ego, and ambition. 

But God had a different plan. 

To teach John a new way of doing things. 

Brick by brick, his world came tumbling down.  He played nurse to his wife for a year.  But his business took a hit.  His partners kicked him out of his company.  He lost patents on his inventions.  And eventually, lost his home.  He and Liz moved in with her parents.  Until her father kicked him out on Christmas Day.  He went bankrupt.  Lost his inheritance.  And his son Max (21), was hit by a car.  One by one the hits kept coming, until John was a shell of a man he used to be.   

No matter what he did, how hard he tried, nothing seemed to work. 

It took a toll on his health.  Triple bypass surgery laid him unconscious for hours. 

When he woke, he surrendered the outcome of his life to God. 

What followed was the most profound peace imaginable.   

He began to search for answers... 

In Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, Sufism, Non-Duality, and more.  As he rose in consciousness, electricity began running up and down his spine, and centered in his forehead. He began to see auras, flashes, visions, have blackouts, out of body experiences, and attract animals.  Electronics would malfunction at his touch.  Lightbulbs would flash and burst as he passed.  Radios turned on by themselves.  Smoke detectors went off.  Dashboards blew out. 

Phenomena completely unexplainable. 

Except by kundalini.  A rise in energy and consciousness.  Experienced by few in recorded history. 

He sought medical help, psychiatric help, spiritual help. 

Why was this happening to him? What did he do to deserve it? 

The answers were unclear, often confusing, and always overwhelming. 

But through it all, one thing remained constant. LOVE. 

Liz never left him and never doubted him. 

Through thick and thin, highs and lows, wealth and poverty, fear and the fantastic, her love for John remained true. As did his love for. Her.  Since the moment they met, they felt they were soulmates.  Put on this earth for one another.  Actors in a play they could not understand.  

Until now. 

Watching it all from afar was Max their only son, witnessing his parents’ love for one another transcend all bounds.  And whose love for him was always unwavering.  A child prodigy whose imagination and intellect dwarfed that of others his age, who was building complex erector sets at four, hovercrafts at eight, rockets at twelve, who—with no formal education-was outwitting renown scientists in competitions across the country, consulting to rocket scientists in Chicago, and ultimately invited to work as a rocket engineer in California for Evolution Space. 

In spring of 2023, John and Liz stood by his side in a desert bunker watching their son launch a rocket 4,000 mph.. Into the heavens.  Seeking answers about what lies beyond. 

We may not always know why we endure the challenges we do. 

But John has learned, no matter the spiritual path, the subjective reality of God is the same.  And he works in mysterious ways... that may never be clear to us.  But in which we must have faith. 

Like Interstellar, Contact, October Sky, Field of Dreams, and Heaven is for Real... 

This inspirational true story is the thing of legend. 

That will leave audiences believing... 

Love and God are one in the same.
